- Baker County Library is offering free training sessions in October on use of Library2Go, its “virtual library” service which allows patrons to download to e-books, audiobooks, and videos to their PC, Mac®, and many mobile devices.

These digital titles can be enjoyed immediately or transferred to a variety of devices, including iPod®, Sony® Reader™, and many others. Recently, the popular Amazon Kindle® was also added to the suite of compatible e-book readers. Some audio titles can also be burned to CD to listen on-the-go. Titles automatically expire at the end of the lending period, so there are no late fees! Come learn how to get started using this exciting service of the library.
Four presentations are currently scheduled. The first will be held Friday, October 21, 2011 starting at 3:30 pm and last approximately one hour. It will introduce patrons to the program and demonstrate how to browse, check out, and download OverDrive media. The second presentation is scheduled for Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 2:00 pm. This is a continuation of the first presentation but will emphasize downloading books and media and transferring them between devices.
The presentations will be repeated on Friday, October 28 at 3:00 pm and Saturday, October 29 at 2:00 pm and will follow the same format. Refreshments will be served.
Training program attendees will be entered into a December 3 drawing for either an MP3 player or e-Book reader courtesy of the Baker County Library Foundation. Additional raffle tickets these items will be available for purchase at the library through November. Winners will be announced at the 2011 Twilight Parade and Tree Lighting event on the evening of Saturday, December 3.
