Description Carnegie Library, interior. Built in 1909 for $25,000, a gift from philanthropist Andrew Carnegie.

There are six photos in this series (1996.2.4a through 1996.2.4f) taken of the second floor (adult section) of the library.

The folder contains a newspaper article from about 1936 announcing the opening of a new children's library in the former Carnegie library auditorium on the ground floor. Joan Patterson, daughter of Dr. Carl Patterson, did much of the design and decorations.
