| Description |
Baker County's third courthouse, built in 1909. The first courthouse was a two-story frame building on the same site. It burned down in July 1885 from a fire started by 18-year-old horse thief Fred Winkleman. Five inmates died in the fire. Winkleman succumbed to his burns a year later in the insane asylum in Salem. The second courthouse on this site was a two-story brick structure built in 1885. |
