Description	Dooley Mountain Road. 1868 poster advertising the Baker City, Clark's Creek, and Shasta Wagon Road and Bridge Co., commonly known as the Dooley Mountain Road. "Hereby give Notice to the Public that their Wagon Road is now open for travel from Baker City, across the mountains, direct to Shasta, via Clark's Creek and Eldorado, distance 26 miles; connecting with good roads to Upper Burnt River Mines, Fort Harney, Owyhee, Boise City via Washoe Ferry, and old Fort Boise and Boise Valley; and also connecting with roads to Amelia City and Humoldt Basin, Rye Valley and other Mines. By Order of the Company, J. D. Haines, Sec'y." A photo of this poster appeared in the Democrat-Herald in the 1980's. The caption reads: "A new item to be on display at the Oregon Trail Regional Museum is this poster dated May 5, 1865. The sign was placed at five-mile intervals along the road between Baker and the Burnt River Canyon area."
