Description Pocahontas School, District 2, in 1895, John A. Payton, teacher.

There is a list of the children in this photo, but they are not identified by row.

A year later, the three French children in the photo, plus their baby sister and both parents, were swept away and drowned in a flood that followed the sudden failure of Goodrich Reservoir. A classmate in the photo, Don Klinefelter, and his family, who lived on a nearby farm, escaped the flood unharmed.
