| Description |
Brig and Eagle being exercised pulling the fire wagon. Bill Denham is on the right; probably Henry Kastner holding reins. Denham is the son of the likely photographer, Hugh Denham, who was an amature photographer but saddlemaker by trade. The Denham house was on NW corner of 3rd and Estes just off the left edge of the photo. Bill Denham was a member of the fire department in 1910, when it was organized as a professional fire department and quit relying on volunteers as first responders.
Notice that all feet of both horses are off the ground and that a little dog is racing them at lower left. |
