Description Fire Dept. Baker City Hose team in competition in Pendleton. This photo is one of 25 similar photos of hose teams and hook and ladder teams in competition in Firemen's Tournaments in SE Washington and NE Oregon spanning the years 1896 to 1902. The photos are badly damaged from having been rolled. This is the only photo featuring a Baker City team.

Caption under photo: "Baker City Hose team at Eastern Oregon & Washington Firemen's Tournament June 2-3-4, 1896, at Pendleton, Oregon. Joe Ell Official starter. No. 1 John Rhodes, #2 Wm. Parker, #3 Bill Adams, #4 Frank Shelton, #5 Chas. C. Palmer, #6 John Judge, Captain & Trainer, #7 Frank Dooly, #8 Robt. Newhaus, #9 George Rankin, #10 Chas. Kellogg, #11 Perry Owens, #12 W. H. Ellis." Dooly should be Dooley.
