Description
Fire Dept. Baker City firemen standing beside fire wagon and harness. A pair of horses was backed under the harness, which was then lowered and cinched on. This photo is on a postcard--there are four of them in the folder--made by the Friends of the Library for sale. The information on the back reads: "Baker City Fire Department's first professional firemen, ca. 1910. William Denham (far left) was the son of saddlemaker and amateur photographer Hugh Denham. Horses Brig and Eagle, one of which can be seen over Denham's shoulder, pulled the fire wagon."
