Directory of Online Digital Archive Collections

This directory represents select online archives, museums, and collections that feature Oregon or the Northwest.

American Indians of the Pacific Northwest Collection : Hosted by the University of Washington, this digital collection integrates over 2,300 photographs and 7,700 pages of text relating to the American Indians in two cultural areas of the Pacific Northwest, the Northwest Coast and Plateau.

Baker Heritage Museum - Photo Archive: A sister-site to the Baker County Library archive, the museum has posted its own significant collection of historical photographs from 1860s to present. Exhibits include Towns; Schools; Rural Life; Logging & the Sumpter Valley Railway; Mining; and Recreation.

Northwest Digital Archives : NWDA provides access to descriptions of primary sources in the Northwestern United States, including correspondence, diaries, or photographs. Digital reproductions of primary sources are available in some cases.

Northwest History - Digital Collections of Everett (WA) Public Library : Everett and Snohomish County, WA historic photographs, manuscripts, artwork, maps and audio/video resources online.

Oregon Historic Photograph Database : This resource provides over 10,000 images from the collections of the Salem Public Library, the Oregon State Archives, and the Marion County Historical Society. The images date from the mid-1800s to the 1990s and depict subjects such as Oregon towns, homes, businesses, occupations, scenic vistas, disasters, festivities, and recreational pursuits.  The database is searchable by keyword and is maintained by the Salem Public Library. 

Southern Oregon Digital Archives : Organized in three collections, Southern Oregon, Bioregion, and First Nations, SODA offers digitized books, documents, and articles from the Hannon Library of So. Oregon University. 

Southern Oregon Historical Society : This site offers information about several cemeteries of So. Oregon.

Sumpter Municipal Museum : Access a slideshow of historic Sumpter, Oregon images from the left side of this website.

University of Oregon Libraries Digital Collections : A wide range of collections including, art, athletics, history, native tribes, humanities, and geography.

Washington Rural Heritage : A variety of regional photographs, maps, letters, postcards, manuscripts, scrapbooks, programs from events, memorabilia and ephemera, and audio and video clips.
